PLE/PLN/VLE as I see them

Quite often I have been asked about the difference between a PLE, a PLN and a VLE and I thought that it would be easier to make a blog post about it and share it with my networks.

PLE stands for Personal Learning Environment, PLN is Personal Learning Network and VLE is Virtual Learning Environment.

I have summed up my ideas in this short presentation.

Leading on from the presentation, I can conclude that my PLN consists of the people who I am connected with on Facebook (groups), Twitter, Edmodo, Pinterest. These are also my colleagues and even my students (as we not only teach our students but also learn from them how to teach in this or that situation in the future). 

My VLE includes my blog, my wiki, Facebook, Twitter, my Moodle, my Pinterest boards, Edmodo, etc.

My PLE is formed from everything mentioned in my VLE and PLN + any conferences or workshops that I attend. I can also say that part of my PLE are the blogs that I follow, sites or books that I read for professional development, educational programs or videos that I watch, etc. Part of PLE is also the experience that we gain from doing a job or from creating lessons in the virtual world.
